10 Motorola started with five employees and 565 dollars
Back in 1928 when brothers Paul and Joseph Galvin started Motorola they had five employees and only 565 dollars. In working capital their first weeks payroll was only $63 . They purchased a bankrupt company called tewart’s battery company at auction for just $750. The brothers set up shop in a small corner of the warehouse. They first designed battery eliminators devices that allowed battery-operated appliances to run on household electric. Galvin saw this product was soon going to be obsolete so he refocused his attention on car radios instead.
09 they invented the car radio, walkie talkie and pager
Motorola have been innovators in mobile communication from the beginning in 1930. They invented the first car radio which was meant to be used exclusively in police cars. They also invented the first walkie talkies in 1940 which proved to be very helpful to the military in World War two. Back in 2008 for helping South Korea buy a line of American police radios in 2008 Motorola joined up with three other South Korean companies to bid on a contract to make a line of new police radios. The bidding was an inside job as Motorola’s only intention was to help their own South Korean company win the contract. Motorola set up three bidding agents to battle for the contract. The thing is all three agents represented Motorola the other South Korean companies were fined a combined total of three hundred and twenty nine thousand dollars while Motorola was fined seven hundred and twenty nine thousand dollars they swore the charges were false but they never did appeal the decision.

03 Google acquired Motorola Mobility in 2012 for 12.5 billion dollars
Motorola sold off its mobility sector to Google back in 2012 for twelve point five billion dollars in a cash sale as part of the sale. Google took control over 7,000 patents which seems to be their primary goal in purchasing. in 2014 Google turned around and sold most of the division to Lenovo a Chinese tech company for 2.91 billion dollars and Google managed to retain 2,000 of the patents they had originally purchased in the transaction.
